The previous post, I mentioned that BES PASCUAL wrote MAGIC BILAO in LAGIM KOMIKS. Thanks to SIMON SANTOS for sending me a movie ad of MAGIC BILAO.
It is actually written by AMADO S. CASTRILLO & AFLREDO ALCALA, serialized in REDONDO KOMIX.
On the other hand, BES PASCUAL wrote & illustrated BATIKOBRA AT FLYING SALAKOT, serialized in Lagim Komiks. Both appeared almost simultaneously, hence the confusion. Therefore, I apologize for being a SPACE CADET!
Here’s that wonderful Alfredo Alcala rendition of MAGIC BILAO movie ad. Enjoy the art, folks.

ReplyDeleteAng tagal naman pala, ano?
Baka yung teenager na nag-mail ay hindi ipinadala by air. Akala siguro niya ang RP ay nasa-katabing isla lang. He-he.
Next time, ako na siguro mismo ang magme-mail kung may time ako para hindi ka naghihintay ng napakatagal.
Meekat,
ReplyDeletei'm surprised to see Alfredo Alcala drawign this poster ala- coching. Coching- style din pala si Alcala nun before he developed his hatch-heavy technique?
Rey:
ReplyDeleteBoth Redondo & Alcala were Coching disciple in the eraly years of their careers as illustrators. Though it is very obvious that both of them found their own styles later, unlike Federico Javinal who stuck through thick and thin to the same style and became a clone of Coching forever.
informative blog!
Tapos, biglang natigbak.
